Coach Chris has been a part of the Stingrays since 2002 when his girls started swimming. He became the Head Coach in 2006. Known by parents for his numerous detailed emails and concise responses, he is adored by his swimmers and knows each and every one by name. He is firm, fair, and fun, always seeking ways to make the summer experience an amazing one in the pool, on deck, and beyond. He can be found on the pool deck, chatting about practices, his two Bengal cats, Boomer and Jax, or where to find the best pizza and chicken tenders.
Swimming has always been an integral part of my life. I began swimming on a summer swim team at the age of five in Hamilton, New York. At ten, I signed up for a competitive USA swim team in Montclair, New Jersey. I started teaching swimming at 14, and at 18, I came full circle, coaching the very summer team where it all began.
My love for swimming carried me through college as a Division III athlete. After graduating, I took my passion to the pool deck, as an assistant coach at Kent Place High School in Summit, NJ, for 8 successful seasons, while simultaneously beginning my career as a Kindergarten teacher in Newark.
I was welcomed as a coach for the Ashland Stingrays in 2019. I am beyond grateful to be a part of a family oriented, all-encompassing swim team.
I thoroughly enjoy helping swimmers build skills, technique, confidence, and a love for the water!
